Roy Carrasquillo, Chair of CLG’s EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program Services and Compliance Practice Group will be joining other distinguished EB-5 stakeholders in the panel “Redeployment: How the Policy Manual Update Affects Current and Future Investors & Projects” on November 12, 2020 during the “2020 IIUSA Virtual EB-5 Industry Forum.”

After years of waiting, on July 24, 2020 the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”) issued a policy alert clarifying policy guidance in the USCIS Policy Manual regarding redeployment of investment capital, including further deployment after the job creation requirements are satisfied.  This new guidance addressed issues such as how long does the NCE has to redeploy the funds and what is required to satisfy USCIS’s requirements.

“Although we finally received guidance from USCIS on the issue of redeployment, it is important that investors, regional centers and developers understand how these new guidelines will affect existing and future EB-5 projects, as failure to comply with these new requirements may result in the denial of an investor’s immigration application” said Roy Carrasquillo, Chair of CLG’s EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program Services and Compliance Practice Group.
